January 2015 Hands for the Harvest Partner Letter Update
Hands for the Harvest Ministries
Dr. Ray and Michelle Pearson
January 31, 2015
Dear friends, family, and beloved ministry partners,
As we write you this year, we are giving thanks to God for our 15th year in ministry! It has now been our joy for 15 years to send a special January letter to all those who have prayed for, partnered with, and gifted to this ministry.
We pray over your every gift and declare 2 Corinthians 9:10-12 (AMP) over every seed sown. We speak increase, insight, and inspiration be unto you so that you have plenty to eat, plenty to give, every bill paid and are blessed in every way!
If you financially gifted the ministry in the past year, your contribution receipt is enclosed. As we make those declarations over your gifts to God, I want you to know that through the gifts and prayers represented by each beautiful giving statement…
You are making a real difference! Just think of it! For fifteen years now, people have received real help, real hope, and real answers because you have sent us to serve.
In fifteen years, your gifts allowed us to provide literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in healthcare to Christian ministers and missionaries across the globe. Your sowing has sent us across the nation, to Mexico, and even into Africa, so that many more can come to know the love of God through Jesus Christ. Because of your gifts, even more have heard God’s Word on wellness through our broadcasts and resource materials. Truly, tens of thousands have been impacted by our covenant partnership.
As we noted in our Christmas online greeting, (available on the website), in many ways, 2014 was a year of great challenge for Doc and I. And, we know it was for many of you as well. So will you join us now as we bid a very grateful goodbye to 2014?
We say a grateful goodbye because, as difficult as the challenges of life can sometimes be for us all, we aren’t ones to give those troubles any air time! We choose to rejoice at how much greater the God within us ALWAYS prevails! Our eyes are on the miracles of life, not the waves of challenge that endeavor to take our attention away from Christ. ALWAYS.
So in that spirit of victory in Jesus, we communicate to you the power of the partnership of faith, As One, In Him, with a victorious report of 2014 ministry activities:
Our theme and command for 2014 was, "Go! Make disciples, be fruitful and multiply!" And that is the glory of the year! That is what we will call to remembrance of 2014… a year of miracles, signs, and wonders, a year of God’s faithfulness gloriously manifested to us, to you, and throughout the Kingdom of God.
One of our favorite areas of service and expansion for 2014 has been hosting our weekly men’s fellowship. It stirs my heart every time I think of the powerful prayers of a group of believing men gathering on Mondays to read the Word, fellowship, and pray for other men in the Body – we truly have seen outstanding grace in action!
In fact, just this week, the men welcomed a walk-in visitor, a man they had not met before, in his seventies, whose wife had just asked for divorce after 34 years of marriage. There they were, our team of faith-filled men, reading the Word of God and ready to minister to the Catholic brother in a great time of need. God is good!
As they met, I began training for Expedition 2015. This is our second year for this 6-month discipleship program for women. We have five hikers at this time, ages mid-30 to upper 60’s, and several more "virtual" participants, our Base Camp Team, who will do the entire program without the hiking. In this letter, however, I am excited to bring the report on last year’s team!
In this six-month immersion program in the Word of God, the participants train Spirit, soul, and body. Our daily Bible reading takes us through the entire New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs in six months. We also read a new book per month from contemporary Christian leaders and pastors, as well as books written by the generals of the faith like Andrew Murray. This scripture describes it perfectly:
"You bring me a continual revelation of resurrection life,
The path to the bliss that brings me face-to-face with you.”
Psalm 16:11 tPt
In the physical training sessions, the ladies learn to put our flesh under as we build up mileage from zero to 13 miles hiked per day by the six month finale. Last year our hikers aged from early 40’s to upper 60’s.
Our final trek of Expedition 2014 was on "America’s Mountain", Pikes Peak, in Colorado. Standing at 14,110 ft., we covered miles of trail over the Labor Day weekend, with the flags of America and Israel waving from each backpack, giving visual witness to the 100+ hours of prayer each hiker prays during the 6 month journey. As we journey in 2015, over 700+ hours of prayer will be lifted up by the 2015 Expedition Team!
Truly dear friends and family, what is there that matters in life more than His Great Grace and being the extension of that grace to the world around us? Nothing compares to His great Love. That is what sustains one in the trials of the age we live in!
As we look forward to a courageous and strong year ahead, we invite you afresh to connect with us for some wonderful assignments in sharing His Gospel. If you know us at all, you can just guess… we are by no means shrinking back! In fact, we are gearing up for greater reach than ever before!
At the Lord’s direction, we’ve revealed the new facelift on our educational website, The Picture of Health. We are writing regularly again, honored to be speaking on international teleconferences, and ministering alongside some amazing speakers. God is blessing the outreach, with hundreds of participants joining us on the calls.
In October, the ministry sowed seed into an Internet Broadcasting Suite upgrade at one of our partner churches. At that time, I wrote in my Bible at God’s inspiration, "Add to Vision List: Internet Broadcasting Suite".
I realized, as Doc and I were attending the KCM Ministers Conference in Ft. Worth earlier this month, that vision list item has come to pass already!! Yes, some of our BIG news is that we have been blessed by partners with the equipment for an in-home audio and video podcast studio! (I promise to post a picture of it soon on Facebook!)
Don’t stop rejoicing yet! We are right now preparing to launch our Blog Talk Radio show and are under construction with a whole new resource section of downloads and teaching resources on the website, including a "partners only" section!
We continue to serve other ministries with HFH Media services. In the first quarter of 2015, I will complete iBloom’s Social Media Manager Certification, equipping us to reach even more folks and fund even more Kingdom projects.
Did you know that millions of people visit social media hourly? We are committed to a being strong, courageous voice of God’s wisdom on health and healing, amplified and multiplied by the use of technology, making real help, real hope, and real answers available across the globe at anytime day or night!
Aimee Semple McPherson put it this way, and this same heart lives in us…
"What is my task? To get the gospel around the world
in the shortest possible time to every man and woman and boy and girl!"
As our seasons and roles in life shift, our passion for ministry remains steadfast. As I take on the bulk of our speaking assignments, Doc’s days now are focused on pouring into me the wisdom and years of God’s teaching in the storehouse of his spirit.
As I train and teach via our media outreaches and travel engagements, Doc is joyfully involved in the writing of books and blogs, contributing to the topics for the podcasts, hosting the men’s weekly faith fellowships, and in personally serving several ministers across the nation, keeping us all fit to fulfill our purpose.
We both appreciate your prayer support as he downloads to me the many books within him whose times have come to be birthed, that his tongue will be like the pen of a ready writer and that my spirit, mind, and pen able to record it and send it forth!
As we sought the Lord during the close of last year for our direction this year, our hearts were impressed with two prevailing, powerful words. As is our custom in these letters, I’d like to close by sharing what I found in studying out these prophetic words for 2015:
The first word is COURAGEOUS – which I found to mean: not deterred by danger or pain; brave, fearless, valiant, lionhearted, undaunted, unflinching, unshrinking, unafraid, adventuresome, stouthearted, gallant. The command to "be strong and of good courage" appears 16 times in the King James Bible, including:
1 Chronicles 28:20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord
Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with you wherever you go.
And, the second word is EXTRAVAGANT – as in God’s extravagant Love – lacking restraint in spending money or using resources, expensive, costly, lavish, high-priced, high-cost; more valuable, precious; exceeding what is reasonable.
It comes from the Latin extravagant- ‘diverging greatly,’ (of a road, route, or line, trail or path) go in a different path from the cultural norm. And watch this! It originates from the verb (action) "extravagari", from Latin extra- ‘outside’ + vagari ‘wander’.
Courageously Wander Outside.
Let the power of God’s assignment for 2015 provoke us all unto valiant, unshrinking, adventuresome faith! Beloved partners, let’s wander outside together in 2015…
Outside the box. Outside the norm. Outside of culture. Outside the fear. Outside our comfort zone. Outside of all limitation. We lean into God and #stepout into purpose…
Living courageously, loving extravagantly!
Committed to His service and your edification,
Dr Ray & Michelle Pearson
